Year 9 Maths Competition

By 10 November 2022No Comments

Year 9 was set the challenge of creating a scale model of a famous landmark or structure, following the completion of the Similarity unit of work. We received some wonderful entries which showed pupils’ creativity and knowledge of similar shapes and scale factors (see pictures above and below).

We are proud to announce the winners of the competition are Hatim K and Ryan S with a fantastic structure of the Discovery space shuttle complete with lots of mathematical facts. Runners up with impressive structures of the Taj Mahal and the Bridge of Vasco da Gama, the longest bridge in Europe, are Umaynah B and Zoe A. All our winners were presented with Love 2 Shop vouchers to treat themselves after their hard work.

Thank you to all pupils who entered the competition.
