The Year 9 football team made the short journey to Thornleigh for a friendly fixture in preparation for their upcoming fixture in the Bolton Cup. It was always going to be a difficult contest with a depleted squad, but this did give the team the opportunity to use their squad and also provide debut opportunities for Aidan and Sam. Sharples took the lead against the run of play when Aashan rounded the keeper after an excellent through ball from Rob and then fired home from a tight angle. Sharples then struggled to contain the attacking threat of Thornleigh but remained competitive throughout the second half. Josh K scored a consolation goal with a wonder strike, curling the ball into the top corner from 30 yards out.
