This week we launched our work experience programme to the Year 10 students and their parents/carers.
Our work experience will take place on 13th March to 17th March 2023 and the aim of the experience is to inspire pupils’ exploration of different careers, expand their networks and open their eyes to exciting opportunities.
Work experience provides each student with a valuable opportunity to develop their awareness and familiarity with the world of work, which can be recorded on their personal statements, CVs and their Sharples School Record of Achievement folders. Additionally, work experience can provide an opportunity to develop key employability skills such as communication, teamwork, creativity and problem solving. These skills are highly valued by colleges, universities and employers alike.
All Year 10 students have been given a work experience booklet to help them find a suitable work experience placement. Finally, as a reminder all Year 10 students must have found a work experience placement and handed in the parental consent and the work experience placement forms by 11th November 2022.
