On Monday, a group of our Year 10 pupils went to Manchester for the Poetry Live Event. The pupils were given the opportunity to both see and engage with a group of excellent poets. The poets performed some of their best work and talked through the process of writing a poem. It was very beneficial for our pupils to hear from Carol Ann Duffy, Simon Armitage, Owen Sheers and Imtiaz Dharker; all poets they are currently studying for the GCSE Anthology Poetry exam. It was an excellent event which left the pupils feeling very inspired, with one pupil even beginning to write her own poem whilst she was there!
