Creatives Now | A Conversation with Filmmaker Javier de Prado – Wednesday 1st February

Year 10 and 11 Performing Arts students were treated to a film masterclass from Javier de Prado, VFX artist and director. Javier took us on a journey from the birth of film, from early forms of visual effects to contemporary methods. This was an exciting session on AI (Artificial Intelligence) VR (Virtual Reality) and Animation.

All students thoroughly enjoyed the zoom presentation and Zayn said, “This was a great insight into the world of filmmaking” and Kandi commented “it’s fascinating how filmmaking has evolved over the years and it was great to hear about the techniques used to make actors and film sets look so good”.

Javier has been involved in the creation of movies (Quail Hollow), theatre (Hoy No Me Puedo Levantor, La Realidad) and music videos include working with The White Stripes, El Kanka and Coldplay and BTS.

A great insight for our young actors to understand and learn about what goes on behind the scenes!
