Music Concert

By 22 December 2022No Comments

Congratulations and well done to all the students involved in the Winter Showcase last week. This is the first Music concert we have done at Sharples and the standard of talent on show was excellent. Students from all year groups performed in front of an audience of family and friends. For a lot of our students this was the first time they have performed on their own or with other musicians and in front of an audience. They all did a brilliant job!

Zayn (Year 11): ‘It was a fantastic experience to play drums with a live band in front of a live audience for the first time and it was lots of fun.’

The evening consisted of lots of different musical genres ranging from sing-along christmas songs to classical pieces such as Fur Elise played on the piano by Aashan, trumpet playing Tom performed Winter Wonderland and Kandi’s stunning guitar piece, Malaguena. Rachel played The Nutcracker beautifully on her flute and Agnes and Amy’s drumming was brilliant as they played Uptown Funk together. The Year 10 Performing Arts class sang Seasons of Love and the choir sang Mary did you know and Snowman with solos from Heidi and Bethany. The school band and rock band consisted of fantastic musicians from different year groups and their performances culminated in a rendition of Merry Christmas Everyone!

We are already looking forward to our summer concert with even more students taking part.
