KS4 Football Tournament

By 17 February 2023No Comments

Off the back of a narrow defeat on Tuesday, our KS4 team (pictured) were ready for redemption in the KS4 Bolton town football tournament on Thursday evening. The girls settled their nerves in the opening game beating Smithills comfortably before facing Westhoughton for the second time this week in what they knew would be a tough game. Looking like the game would finish in a draw, a last second goal ensured Westhoughton came away with the win which arguably should have been ruled out due to the full time whistle going before the goal was scored! Up next was Bolton School B which was an end to end game finishing 2-0 to the opposition. Dusting themselves off, the fourth game of the night against Thornleigh B saw the girls demonstrate some of the best football they have displayed all year and secured an impressive 3-0 victory. Going into the last game of the group, a win against Turton would have seen us progress through to the semi-final. The best chance of the game came from Grace G who hit a fantastic strike but was denied through an incredible save from their keeper. This ensured the game finished 0-0 and meant Turton progressed through to the semis. It was a brilliant evening and a great chance to see some of the fantastic talent across the borough. Well done, girls!
