A big well done to our rounders teams who came up against Smithills School on Thursday afternoon in the first rounders fixture of the year. After a nervous start, the Year 7 & Year 8 team soon settled into their game and demonstrated some brilliant fielding that took the game all the way to the very end. Unfortunately, the team narrowly missed out on the win, losing 80-67.
The Year 9 team started fantastically, showcasing some excellent batting. When it was their time to field, Grace Grundy made it near impossible for Smithills to get a good bat with her excellent bowling. As a result, the Year 9s came away with an impressive win of 94-29. A brilliant effort, girls! The next fixture will take place against Rivington next Thursday.
