A huge congratulations to Cherie U (Year 9) who competed at the English Schools Athletics Championships at Sport City last weekend. After a comfortable win in her heat on Friday morning, Cherie made it through to the semi-finals which took place in the evening. Up against one of the fastest junior athletes in the country, Cherie finished 2nd in the semi-finals which booked her a place in the final of the junior girls 100m which took place on the Saturday. Racing against some of the most talented athletes in the country, Cherie kept up to the standard and only narrowly missed out on a medal position. Finishing 4th, Cherie managed to run a PB and secured a club record for Bolton Harriers. This is an unbelievable achievement from a very talented athlete. We look forward to seeing the many more successes in Cherie’s athletics career.
