Our Year 11s’ five year football journey came to an end when they crashed out of the Bolton Cup against Canon Slade this week. Despite it being the team’s first game of the season they showed no signs of rustiness beginning the game brightly and twice went close through Haruna after good work from Andy. Unfortunately, Sharples were made to pay for missing their opportunities when Canon Slade scored 2 goals just before the interval despite being second best for most of the half. Sharples searched for a goal to get back in the game but were picked off by the opposition as they over committed going forward. Harry E scored a lovely goal but this was only to be a consolation as Canon progressed to the next round.
A special mention to Razin who put in a superb performance despite fasting all day and even managed to make time for his prayers during the half time break.
