Year 7 Football vs Bolton School

By 10 March 2023No Comments

Year 7 (pictured above) tasted defeat for the first time this year in their Bolton Cup fixture against a very strong Bolton School side. It was a great occasion for the team and they responded well with a very spirited performance. Sharples went into half-time 1-0 down and came back out in the second half with the determination to pull it back, something in which they succeeded in doing with a great goal from Alfie. Bolton then scored to make it 2-1 until Sharples were awarded a penalty, which Elliott converted calmly. Bolton School then went up the other end and scored a third after a fantastic double save from Patrick, who was very unfortunate to concede. Sharples went looking for the all important equaliser which unfortunately did not arrive despite a very brave effort. Bolton then scored a fourth on the counter attack in the closing minutes. A special shout-out to our substitutes who waited patiently on the sideline despite not receiving much game time, this was a great demonstration of the team spirit that Year 7 carries. Well done to all involved, the team will dust themselves down and go again as they continue with more games over the coming weeks.
