Year 9 didn’t need to travel far for their quarter final match against Turton in the Bolton Cup. On a muddy pitch in freezing cold conditions it was as much a test of character as skill. It was an extremely tight and tense game with both teams evenly matched throughout. Unfortunately, it was Turton that edged it with a narrow 2-1 victory. Turton took the lead in the first half and then Noah D levelled just before the interval after good work from Aashan on the left. The second half consisted of Sharples pressing for an equaliser and despite going close on numerous occasions, it wasn’t to be. The Year 9 team will be looking to bounce back against Mount St Joseph’s to continue their push to win the league.
