Congratulations on your hard work and keep it up!

Animal care

This week, Year 10 Animal Care pupils have been practising writing reports for their coursework. Miss Booth would like to say a huge well done to a number of pupils in the class who have produced amazing pieces of work so far.

Along with all of the other students, Anya P, Maria S and Lily-Anne C have produced some fantastic reports on handling and restraint. Well done!

Educake

In Year 9, the top performers this week were Yusuf I, Shaiza N and Mariya P.

In Year 10, the highest scores were achieved by Luke C, Zaynah M, Marcus V and Zeb P. Congratulations and well done to all students who completed their Educake Home Learning.

STEM Club

This week, Year 7 pupils learnt how to use their knowledge of neutralisation reactions to produce incredible fizzing rainbows! This shows chemistry in action.

The group are also “designing their own animal”, using their knowledge of evolved adaptations from different parts of the world!

Astronomy Club

This week in astronomy club, students were modelling the formation of craters on the surface of the Moon. Students launched asteroids (ball-bearings) to crash into the Moon soil (flour and cocoa powder), to show how lunar features were formed. Next week, students will be practising lunar sketching, to capture the details of the Moon.

Space News

Following numerous delays due to adverse weather, Artemis I is due to launch at 6am on Wednesday Nov 16. This is the first of several missions that will attempt to take astronauts back to the Moon for the first time for 50 years. Artemis I will be unmanned, and the primary mission is to test the Space Launch System rocket and the Orion spacecraft, ready for the manned mission of Artemis II. For more information, please talk to Year 10 astronomy students, Amirah, Bethany or Isaac, who have produced a brilliant presentation about the mission.
