Year 8 Bolton Schools Netball Tournament

By 16 March 2022No Comments

The Year 8 netball team travelled to Bolton School on Tuesday evening to take part in the Bolton schools netball tournament. After the success of the Year 9 team finishing in 3rd place last week, the Year 8 team were confident going into the games. Sharples were placed in a tough group consisting of Canon Slade, Mount St Jospehs, Turton, St James, St Josephs and Westhoughton. After a nervous first couple of games, the girls found their momentum and managed to secure 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses. The girls demonstrated some excellent netball at times with Evie Almond-Smith and Alishia Vieira linking brilliantly in the centre third, and Saffiya Abdul demonstrating some fantastic defensive play. The girls finished fourth in their group and were therefore just short of making the semi-finals. Great effort, girls!
