World Book Day

By 11 March 2022No Comments

Last Thursday, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of World Book Day. The day was packed full of World Book Day themed lessons, food and even prizes!

Around 40 of our wonderful members of staff decorated their doors with a book of their choice. Miss Fairhurst even had some wonderful Year 7s to help her! From Peter Pan, James and the Giant Peach, Wonder and even Blue Planet! During form time, our Year 7s had to identify which book each door was decorated as.

Our canteen invited us to ‘be their guest’ special menu featuring Peter Rabbit carrot soup, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and even Miss Trunchbull’s chocolate cake. Luckily there were no Bruce Bogtrotters amongst our students.

Throughout the day, students were given golden tickets for reading aloud and 12 lucky winners across Year 7-10 were given a WBD themed hamper for their confident and fluent reading! Over 300 tickets were given out on the day; we clearly have some brilliant readers in our school! A huge well done to everyone that won a ticket!
